BUT, giving commercial fisheries 5 1/2 months for red snapper fishing while limiting rec fishing for the same species to ONE fish and a 2-day season is ridiculous. Recreational boating/fishing brings billions of dollars into the state coffers but severe regulations are going to kill that. We are already displeased with the South Florida Fishing and Wildlife Commission and NOAA just adds another level to the frustration. I am a rec fisherman AND diver. If the “scientists” are actually in the water vice gathering info from commercial operations, I would challenge a lot of what they say. NOAA doesn’t like Trump’s cuts? Sooner or later someone may realize that American’s Come First isn’t just a political yell.
