I’m trying to find an organic source of dairy ( milk, cheese, yogurt) from a farm that treats their cows and all other animals they may have with respect. I live in the suburban Chicago area. Can you help?

Great to read the Engelberts’ story in Civil Eats! They have been a big part of the backbone of organic farming in NYS, generously sharing what they have learned and supporting the Northeast Organic Farming Association of New York. Everyone who reads this article should also read Kevin Engelbert’s essay on the meaning of parity where he explains that US food policy used to ensure a price in the marketplace for farm products that covered the costs of production instead of subsidies that do not make up for the price difference and in reality provide cheap ingredients for the big processors and cheap grains for the import-export businesses.
