Those who are most successful are the ones that look ahead and see what the future can behold.

These restaurant workers should look ahead and see their current job is done except for a few areas. But what are the opportunities? For one, people need to install, setup, and maintain the automation that’s installed.

Jobs with at are already in heavy demand and only going to be higher….PLC programming, systems architect, robot machine technician, etc. list really goes on and on. And that’s just in these new systems going into restaurants. You go outside of this sector and trades people and engineers are in HUGE demand. Someone can work towards a trade with little money and end up earning 6 figures debt free in a few years. So crazy more people are not doing this. If I was young again and unsure about career or needed change I’d definitely do a trade.

It is challenging when the same thing (digital menus) renders a space inaccessible to some (those who don’t have smartphones or feel uncomfortable with technology) and more accessible to others (low-vision or blind patrons or those who struggle to communicate verbally). I think the future needs to include a both/and approach.
