Probable based on the 1958 patent it uses a propane tank for the body and flappers of tire tread on the shaft with an external 1 hp motor with drive belt. I pour a five gallon bucket of walnuts thru it in 45 seconds, repeat and all the hulls are knocked off and drop thru a grate with the nuts coming out the end chute quite clean. I rinse them and stack them on hardware cloth racks under cover for a few months until they are dry enough to crack. I usually store them in sealed 5 gallon buckets for about a year before I start cracking them using the Master Nut Cracker of which I have three. Works quite well tho it sure makes a racket. Ear protection a must.
