This was a great article!! I live in the Tucson area, and years ago saw a model of traditional Tohono O’odham desert farming techniques at Organ Pipe National Monument. It was explained by a member of the tribe who said he wanted to help preserve its farming traditions. It was fascinating, and tepary beans, which your article mentioned, are delicious!
It’s wonderful that the farm is reconnecting tribal members with their traditions. Keeping those, and their special knowledge about desert agriculture and foods alive is so important.
